Arriving is a process too. We prepare you for it.
Enrolment is the middle of the journey, not the end. Before departure, every student goes through our seminars and checklists — so the first month in Russia is exciting, not stressful.
What to pack
- 01Passport + 10 photocopies of the main page
- 02Original education certificates and their notarised translations
- 03Medical certificate and vaccination records
- 04Warm layered clothing — winter jacket can be bought cheaper in Russia
- 05Unlocked phone; a Russian SIM is issued on arrival
- 06Bank card that works abroad + some cash in USD
- 07Prescription medicines for the first months, with prescriptions
- 08Power adapter (Russia uses type C/F sockets, 220V)
Rules to know in Russia
Registration is not optional
Within 7 working days of arrival you must be registered at your address — the university dormitory usually handles this, but it is your responsibility to check that it happened.
Carry your documents
Police may ask for your passport, visa, migration card and registration. Carry originals or notarised copies; a photo on your phone is not enough.
Attendance matters
Russian universities track attendance strictly, and missing classes can affect your visa status. Treat the schedule as a legal obligation, not a suggestion.
Work rules are specific
Students may work under defined conditions — but rules change and violations risk your visa. Always confirm with the university’s international office before taking any job.
